Mary Grace Apostol-Seron

Profession & background: Mary Grace Seron aka Xyra Grey was born and raised in Malolos Bulacan. She started working as early as the age of 17 as a Money Changer Teller and went in between jobs to save money for college. She has big dreams and pursued her passion so in 2010, she took up a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a Major in Financial Management at Far Eastern University Manila. Her life went upside down in 2012 and an unplanned life situation forced her stop schooling. She became a single mom and the bread winner of her immediate family. Though this hardship would have ended the faint-hearted, Xyra did not let the adversity of life stumble and stop her for good. She got up and decided to keep moving onward. She then found work as a call center agent in Manila while she remained resilient by keeping her strong faith in God. In 2018, she grabbed the opportunity to go back to school and enroll at La Consolacion University Philippines (LCUP). During her academic stay in LCUP, she was able to help tutor several students who had difficulty with their studies. It is notable that despite her own personal hardship, she was still able to make time to help others. Her perseverance paid off and on Aug. 2020, Xyra graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Major in Financial Management. The fortitude of this young woman now directs her path with plans to further her studies in the art of teaching and now sets her eyes to get a Masters Degree to become a professor. Xyra’s difficult challenges in life tempered her spirit to go beyond defeat to championing her family and others striving to better their lives. This woman is determined to leave a lasting legacy by continuing to help out more students pursue their dreams and teach them as well to pass on the goodness to others.
Specialty: In her early years, Xyra was her teacher's personal pick to join declamation contests when she was in 2nd grade until 4th grade because of her amazing ability to memorize a piece overnight and was always commended for her great vocal delivery. She is a theatre actress of Dularawan Bulakan Foundation Inc. where she played the role of Salome in a “Sinakulo” show in 2016. When she was studying in LCUP, she assisted some students by coaching them in writing their thesis and feasibility studies. Musically inclined, she sings while playing guitar or ukulele. She also knows the basics in playing drums and keyboard piano.
Philosophy in life: “My aspiration to fulfill my purpose in life is driven by my desire to put smiles on the faces of a lot of people. There's a lot of choices in life. Always choose the good choices to make a better you and a better world.”
