Background: A practicing Internist-Diabetologist. Dr. Leila Angeli A. Alberto is currently an active affiliate consultant specialist in the first ever successful Mall-based Medical Clinic in the country, HEALTHWAY MEDICAL located in one of the leading mall branches in SMCITY Northedsa, Quezon City. She is also an In- House Physician in NEPHROCARE Northedsa, a dialysis center owned and managed by Fresenius Medical Care Phil, Inc. She also maintains a private clinic in her place of residence where she sees and treats patients from all walks of life. She is the company physician of Altitude Garments Intl. Inc (Quezon City) and Maayo Shipping based in Dumaguete City, the capital city of Negros Oriental or Eastern Negros. She travels 1 hour and 20 minutes by plane twice to thrice a year to do annual medical examinations and consultations every year for the past 5 years. Dr. Alberto was previously affiliated with St Jude Medical Center (Manila), De Ocampo Hospital (Manila), Medical Officer III Ospital ng Maynila, Philam Internist (U.N Ave., Manila), Sagrada Corazon Medical Center (Manila), IRRI-Maxicare (Los Banos, Laguna) , part owner and clinic manager of St Ralph’s Medical and Specialty Clinic (V.G Cruz, Manila) until about 12 years ago, when she had to limit her active practice to a smaller area in Quezon City because of her medical condition (Generalized Myasthenia Gravis). She earned a B.S Biological Sciences degree at the University of the Philippines, Manila in 1985. In pursuit of a dream to become a doctor, she applied and was accepted as a medical scholar in one of the country’s top 5 medical schools Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (University of the City of Manila 1986-1990). After passing the Physicians licensure Examinations in 1991, she trained in a Residency Program in Internal Medicine and ICCU in Ospital ng Maynila from 1991 to 1995. Because of her interest in the field of Endocrinology specifically Diabetes, she furthered her training in Diabetes by enrolling at the Institute of Studies for Diabetes Foundation (ISDFI) UERM in 1995-1997.

Specialty: Aside from being a passionate and compassionate physician, she loves to write mostly poetry about personal experience, all a reflection of her life’s struggles and battles. She also loves to sing and dance. She shares her time and skills by participating in medical missions even in her limited capacity.
